Annotation. The paper deals with modern technologies of managing the efficient operation of rolling stock on motor transport by means of rational models of choosing the strategies of its functioning. The paper reveals the problems of availability of criteria for the system of evaluation and choice of service models for the owners of vehicles. The probability of failure of vehicle units and assemblies, maintenance costs and profitability of transport services are proposed as the main criteria for choosing the strategies of transport logistics to identify priorities in segmenting the market of transport and logistics services.
