This time hotel experts analyzed hotel market of Volgograd.
According to CBRE research, no new branded hotels will be commissioned in Volgograd before FIFA World Cup 2018. As of the beginning of 2017, there are 85 hotels with a total number of 3,035 rooms in Volgograd. Only three hotels (about 25% of the total number of rooms in the city) operate under international brands.
Tatiana Belova Associate Director, Head of Hospitality & Tourism group CBRE in Russia said: “FIFA World Cup 2018 will have an extremely positive result for Volgograd. Investment fever did not affect Volgograd’s hotel market, where investors were reasonable in estimations of the effect of this event for the city. Among the recently opened branded hotels is Hilton Garden Inn Volgograd of 157 rooms, officially introduced in May 2017. It was decided to open this hotel far before the news about FIFA World Cup. Thus, the quality supply has not increased in this market (not taking into account the apartments of different quality), we expect that this significant sports event will stimulate the growth of tariffs in June and will allow hoteliers to increase the profitability for the whole year."
