Annotation. The article discusses the differences in the interpretation of individual terms in the field of logistics, taking into account their uniqueness or differences. A comparative characteristic of direct, return and reverse material flows during their movement in the supply chain has been carried out, and separate clarifications have been proposed for the formulation of types of material flows.
